“THE NAME YOU HAVE KNOWN AND TRUSTED FOR YEARS.”
Home Sleep Testing
It has never been easier!
What is Home Sleep Testing?
A home sleep test is a simple-to-perform diagnostic procedure you will take in the comfort of your own home. While you sleep, the home sleep test device monitors your breathing and records pauses in your breathing known as Apneas. Home sleep testing is used to uncover Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) specifically; it is intended only for those patients who exhibit clinical signs and symptoms of OSA.
What is Obstructive Sleep Apnea?
OSA is a condition where you stop breathing during sleep. An individual with OSA may not be aware they are having this difficulty breathing. Untreated, OSA can lead to excessive daytime sleepiness and fatigue, as well as serious health problems such as high blood pressure, heart problems, diabetes and stroke. The good news is, however, that treatment options are available for every sleep apnea sufferer!
How do I start the Home Sleep Testing process?
All sleep studies must be prescribed by a physician. However, you can start by using the links below to do a self-screening for OSA. Discuss your symptoms with your primary care physician, and a simple evaluation will determine if you are at risk for sleep apnea and a candidate for a home sleep test. You may want to print out your screening results and a physician's order form (below) so that you can take them with you to your doctor's appointment.
Is the Home Sleep Testing process complicated?
Not at all. The IDS Home Sleep Test couldn’t be easier! To learn about the testing process, please review the Home Sleep Test Patient Guide.
Once your doctor has ordered a home sleep test for you, your sleep device will be delivered right to your door. Along with the HST testing equipment, you will receive the Home Sleep Test Patient Instructions and a DVD of video instructions as well.
